In the fantasy world that is widely depicted in various entertainment media, purple is a color that we may often encounter. They have a mysterious aura that is also enchanting in a way. We may see it as a color of trees and plants there. In nature, many deadly plants and animals display bright colors as a warning sign to stay away, such as purple which is often associated with the words like 'dangerous', 'poisonous' as well as 'enchanted' or 'charm'. This work is inspired by the 'deadly charm' of purple. It is made from coconut husk using a structural design technique, knotting. The black, and three shades of purple coconut husk are dyed with sappan wood, using different mordant to create different colors.
